Even the tiniest of teeth counts: Near Paderborn, archaeologists are studying and documenting an approximately 5,500 year-old burial site. The goal is to obtain new knowledge on the burial rites and, thus, on the lives of people in the Neolithic Period. Particularly exciting: human bones. They provide clues on how the dead had lain in their graves or contain information on age, sex, illnesses and even relationships between the people. To do this, the archaeologists must first go underground—layer by layer…
